Political Action Committees (PACs) are a group of like-minded individuals who pool their resources to achieve a common goal. NECAPAC uses funds to elect and support Members of Congress whose political philosophy or position within the legislature are in support of NECA’s legislative objectives. A secondary objective is to use candidate selection and fund disbursement procedures in a manner that maximizes the interaction of NECA chapters and members with their national legislators. When critical votes or issues arise lawmakers will vote their convictions. NECAPAC exists to help educate and assist candidates on the issues impacting us today.

NECAPAC contributors receive regular communications from Government Affairs staff about the issues impacting our industry. You will also have access to the NECAPAC website that will keep you informed about who NECAPAC is contributing to and the top issues of the election cycle.

Individuals may contribute up to $2,500 to federal candidates in any one election (primary, general, and run-off). In contrast, individuals may contribute up to $5,000 per year to a political action committee like NECAPAC. By contributing to NECAPAC your political donation will have a greater impact.

In federal elections NECAPAC can contribute up to $5,000 per election (primary, general, and annual leadership PACs) per candidate. There is no aggregate limit for NECAPAC’s contribution to all federal candidates in one calendar year.

No. FEC rules prevent corporations from giving directly to political action committees. Only individuals may contribute to NECAPAC and these funds can only be used for support of federal candidates.
